Chiang Mai is known as The Rose of the North and is considered the ‘jewel in the crown of Thailand’. It is the largest and most culturally significant city in Northern Thailand with a history of more than seven-hundred years. At that time, it was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom before becoming part of the country of Siam, which is now known as Thailand.
